MORE ABOUT NEM 3.0

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

On December 15, 2022, California regulators passed a ruling that will decrease solar savings potentially by more than 60% for all customers served by PG&E, SCE, and SDG&E.

Two pieces of good news:

  1. You have until April 14, 2023, to lock in the higher savings (NEM 2.0).

  2. You don’t need to install your solar panel system before the April deadline – but you need a signed contract and completed solar application, so get started today!

The details of what happened:

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) recently approved the state's next phase of net metering, called NEM 3.0. This decision reduces the value you receive for any solar you send to the grid by ~75%.

While going solar will always be good for the environment and will continue to save most homeowners money under this new policy, EnergySage, and other industry experts have modeled that the NEM 3.0 rates will decrease the average homeowner's 20-year savings by ~60%.

You Still Have Time to Act!

NEM 3.0 goes live on April 14th, 2023. However, selecting an installer and submitting a finalized solar application to your utility company before then will lock you into today's higher net metering rates for the next 20 years.

This is worth sharing. Tell your friends and Family today!

WHY USE THE BEST BRANDS AND
QUALITY PARTS?

IT’S REALLY PRETTY SIMPLE

Performance: Quality solar panels and other components are designed and manufactured to perform reliably over a long period of time. By using trusted brands and quality parts, you can be confident that your system will generate the expected amount of electricity, with minimal maintenance and repairs required.

Safety: Solar energy systems involve electrical components, and safety is paramount. Known brands and quality parts are tested and certified to meet safety standards, reducing the risk of electrical hazards or fires.

Warranty: Trusted brands and quality parts often come with longer warranties than cheaper, lower-quality components. This means that if something goes wrong, you are more likely to be covered by the warranty, reducing the cost of repairs or replacements.

Compatibility: Solar energy systems involve many components that must work together seamlessly. Using known brands and quality parts ensures that the components are compatible with each other, reducing the risk of system failures or underperformance.

Value: Although it may be tempting to choose cheaper components to save money in the short term, quality components often provide better value in the long term. They tend to last longer, perform better, and require less maintenance, which can save you money on repairs and replacements over time.

CHARGE YOUR ELECTRIC VEHICLE

TIMES, THEY’RE A CHANGIN’

Reduced Fuel Costs: With solar panels, you can generate your own electricity, eliminating the need to purchase fuel for your EV. This can result in significant cost savings, especially over the long term.

Energy Independence: Generating your own electricity with solar panels can reduce your dependence on the power grid, which can help to insulate you from fluctuations in energy prices.

Environmental Benefits: Solar panels generate electricity without emitting greenhouse gases or other pollutants, making them a cleaner and more sustainable option for powering your EV.

Federal and State Incentives: Many states and the federal government offer incentives and tax credits for purchasing and installing solar panels, which can help offset the upfront costs of installing a solar panel system.
